CamWHO is part of the student-led organisation, Students for Global Health Cambridge (SfGH). SfGH is, in turn, a part of a transnational project called ‘WHO simulations’ within the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), which is a worldwide network of medical students with 1.3 million members in over 100 countries.

Previous conferences have been held in Montreal and London. They have had success among participants who praise it as authentic to the actual World Health Assembly (WHA) held in Geneva every year. Additionally, CamWHO is the only conference to supplement the simulation with relevant workshops on topics such as lobbyism, negotiation, and presentation skills to provide the participants with the tools required to act as WHO-delegates.

The CamWHO Organizing Committee (OC) consists of students from Cambridge University of the disciplines of medicine, political science, law, public health and life sciences. The OC is working voluntarily and takes honour in ensuring CamWHO participants a continued high standard after last years successful inaugural.

The very first CamWHO conference took place in September 2019, where delegates debated on the theme of 'Health and Gender'. It has been a real success, with over 60 participants coming from all around the world !
